How usage limits work
The platform features (search, filters, reading judgments, PDFs, saving and history) are available without a usage cap. The AI features — the Legal Research Assistant, doctrinal timelines, brief-accuracy checks and AI summaries — draw on a monthly allowance that depends on your plan and resets at the start of each billing month.
If you reach an allowance, you can upgrade your plan at any time for a higher monthly limit. Premium is designed for heavy, day-to-day research use.
Fair use of AI features
The AI features run on a paid AI service, so every query has a real cost that varies with the tribunal, the length of the judgments and the complexity of your question. Even on unlimited allowances, they are meant for professional research at human pace — and normal heavy use is exactly what the plans are for, so there's nothing to worry about.
What falls outside fair use is, for example, automated or scripted access, mass extraction of AI outputs, sharing your credentials, or trying to get around usage limits; sustained volume far above what others on your plan do may also be flagged. In such cases we will normally contact you first so you can adjust — though clear automated abuse may be suspended without notice. The full terms are in Section 6.2 of the Terms of Service.
