When you search or browse a tribunal, IAT Search gives you several ways to narrow the results and change their order. The available options adapt to the tribunal you are viewing.

Sorting

Use the sort control above the results to reorder them:

• Similarity — orders judgments by how closely they match your query (with semantic search). Best when you are exploring a concept and want the most relevant decisions first.
• Date — newest first (Date ↓) or oldest first (Date ↑). Useful to follow how a tribunal's approach evolved, or to find the most recent authority on a point.
• Number (No. ↓ / No. ↑) — by the tribunal's judgment number, descending or ascending.
• Organization (Org. A→Z / Z→A) — groups results by the international organization involved. For the UN Dispute Tribunal this becomes Registry (Reg. A→Z / Z→A); tribunals that hear cases from a single organization show the other options instead.

Filtering

Filters restrict the results to a subset:

• Organization — the All organizations dropdown limits the results to one organization. This is especially useful for tribunals that hear cases from many, such as the ILO Administrative Tribunal.
• Tribunal-specific filters — some tribunals add filters tailored to their own documents. For example, Council of Europe decisions can be filtered by type (judgment, inadmissibility, stay and others), and UNRWA Dispute Tribunal judgments by category and by whether they were appealed to the UN Appeals Tribunal.

Use Clear to reset every filter and return to the full list.

Results per page

You can choose how many results appear per page from your account preferences — see Account settings. Your choice is remembered across sessions.
